| The compatibility of PEEK,
polyethylene, polypropylene, PVDF, Teflon and Tefzel with many solvents
are in the table below. The durability was tested at 20ºC (68ºF)
and the data is extracted from multiple sources.
In polymer analysis, methylene-chloride,
DMSO and THF are often used as solvents and they may cause swelling of
PEEK. The highest temperature recommended for PEEK is 100º
centigrade.
The only solvents which will attack PEEK are concentrated nitric acid and
sulphuric acids.
